About me
I'm Marcel, a FIDE Candidate Master from Heerlen in the Netherlands. I coach adult players who want to improve: club players stuck at a rating plateau and motivated adult improvers who want a clear plan. Lessons in English or Dutch.
Playing experience
More than 30 years of over-the-board tournament play, from international opens to Dutch club league competition. Played in 5 European Club Cups. FIDE Candidate Master, FIDE rating 1873. Shared 3rd–5th place at the Porz Open with 7/9.

Teaching methodology
Online lessons of 60 minutes via Lichess and video call. Before the first lesson you send me 2–3 of your recent games, so we start with what matters most for you.
