IM Prantik Roy

Greetings! This is International Master Prantik Roy.
I am a Professional Chess Player and a Chess Coach from Kolkata, India.

I work with both serious Chess players and enthusiasts to help them improve their game. You can message me here or mail me at royprantikchess@gmail.com.

I have played Chess professionally for more than two decades.

Earned my IM title at Qatar Masters in 2015 (received officially at the FIDE Presidential Board Meeting in March 2016).
I won the National Blitz Championship in 2016.
Earned my maiden GM norm at the Xtracon Open in Denmark in 2018.

I have won multiple State Championships and several classical and rapid tournaments as well.

My teaching journey began a few years before I earned my IM title. Initially, I had a tight tournament schedule and therefore was quite infrequent with teaching.

As of now, I am a full-time coach.

I have trained several promising players from West Bengal and beyond.
I have trained players who went on to become IMs and GMs.
My students have been champions in Asian, National, and State events.
Many of my other students have consistently performed well in competitions.

I have been fortunate enough to teach at Chess institutions in India and in the U.S.
I would very much like to explore more such opportunities in the future.

I focus on building a strong understanding of the game while sharing my passion for Chess with my students.
