About me
I’m Loris Tavernier — a FIDE Candidate Master, coach, and competitive player with strong international experience.
I hold a FIDE rating of 2100 and have achieved numerous victories and podium finishes in classical, rapid, and blitz tournaments around the world.
#4 on Lichess in Classical and Top Performer in Hourly Arenas.
One of my key results is finishing 3rd place at the European Championship in the Under 2300 section, second at the Swedish Klass 1 Championship and also placed 3rd twice at the Liechtenstein National Championship.
As a coach, I’ve helped over 200 students reach their playing strength and rating goals. Some of my students, such as Carina Wickstrom, have gone on to compete in European Team Championships, as well as World and European Championships in the Under 2300, Under 2000, Junior and Senior categories.
I’ve also worked with titled players, including Candidate Masters (CM) and FIDE Masters (FM), providing advanced-level coaching.
My main expertise lies in opening preparation and in building structured, personalized training plans that deliver practical and measurable improvement.
Alongside coaching, I create educational content online.
My YouTube channel has grown to over 1,500 subscribers, and I’ve reached more than 17 million total views across all platforms.
